Two years ago, Brooks Sports, of Seattle, began creating a mid-distance training group, the Brooks Beasts, that has gone from concept to major player in a part of the country that was Nike ™s playground for more than a decade. The Beasts ™ coach, Danny Mackey, and Brooks sports marketing manager, Jesse Williams, talked with The Oregonian ™s track and field reporter, Ken Goe, about what this means for Brooks and the athletes involved.
