The Southern Oregon University athletic department hit a new high with 11 NAIA Scholar Teams in 2019-20 while reaching double figures for the fourth straight year, the national office announced.

Sixty-two Southern Oregon University student-athletes were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes for the 2019-20 season Tuesday, which was dubbed the first annual NAIA Awards Day by the national office.

Shaw, a transfer from Biola, and Tunnell, who made his Raider debut as a freshman in 2016, established themselves as favorites in the throws for the 2020 CCC Track and Field Championships long before the season was canceled.

Loghan Sprauer, one of SOU's best-ever heptathletes, earned all-conference plaudits nine times and All-America honors three times since making her Raider debut in 2016.

SOU's total goes to 108 academic all-conference selections for the 2019-20 school year.

The outdoor track and field season ended before it began in 2020, but Joseph Dotson used the indoor stage to prove himself yet again as one of Southern Oregon University's great clutch performers.
